Default Need help with older boat

Buddy of mines dad has an older Monarch boat that we want to load out for crappie fishing! We are going to rig it and take to southern GA and leave it for our yearly trips to Astor Florida! What Trolling motor and Graph would you recommend for this? He says he thinks it is a 16’ ft boat. I’m looking at the MotorGuide Xi3 and a Lowrance G3 HD9! We want something that we can at least graph fish, see contours and don’t want to spend a lot of money to do this!
    Suggestions?

My dad had a Monarch bass style boat. Don’t know your layout, but that boat was a 17’ I believe, and very heavy. He upgraded trolling motors twice. Very nice until it got rear ended, but very heavy. Just make sure of your TM decision the first time. Best of luck, and share some pictures with us.

I have a 16 foot Monarch stick steer that I fish with in South Ga. I have a 25 hp merc., and a basic foot controlled Minncota. Also a basic Lorance depth finder. It works great for me as long as the wind isn't too bad. I did recently put millennium seats on it.Name: Screenshot_20230129-190910_Gallery.jpg

Having had both I would suggest the XI5 over the XI3 and the hook reveal tripleshot is a great graph for the price.
