I haven’t ever stayed at the lodge so any comments I made would be hear say. I’ve heard good and bad. When we were renting a cabin we stayed at both Ingram’s and Whippoorwill’s. My wife and I have had good experiences at both of these places. We keep our camper at Ingram’s now February thru April. We have always enjoyed out stay at both location. This will make our seventh year. Hope this helps you out.

What he said.....
I live close by, and from my driveway to Ingrams is 15 minutes.
While I have never stayed at the local places, I do read the reviews and such.
From what I gathered was if you're expecting 5 star service and accommodations... might not be for you.
If you're more interested in clean, simple, southern hospitality..... it's a win !
Nice folks.... great fishing... and not a bank busting price..... it's a win.
As close as I am, I have considered putting my RV/Camper on a spot near the lake, and their prices are moderate.
Great places, good people, and not to far from town and restaurants and such.
Just sayin.....

From staying at both Ingrams and the Whip in the past, Id say your dead on with that info. My wife and I will be getting there in less than a week and then will continue on to 2 other fish camps in south central Florida after a few days. Fish camps are basic low cost, simple accommodations, my wife is a hillbilly so we are both always satisfied to get a boat slip and a decent place to sleep. If your camping id recommend bringing food and drinks, there aint much around, although there's a country corner store from what I remember that had some good fried food. Oh yeah be careful on the lake there's standing timber in deep water, but the risk is worth it. Have fun
Yes it is a good idea to have food and drinks when you get there. The only restaurant in the area is County Boys nothing fancy but good food. The lake is different from most others due to the standing timber in the middle of the lake. What timber you see is not a problem it is the dead heads just below the surface. We normally run close to the shore seems to be less structure. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Stayed there many years ago as Chuck Auten's guest. The owner, Rusty Leverette, was still alive. Typically, you won't find 5 Star hotel scenario at ANY fish-related lodging. IMHO, this location/hospitality/cleanliness IS 5 for fishing intent. Bait/tackle/ramp all in one location and as mentioned, Country Boys restaurant is convenient and good value for your buck! Probably still owned/operated by Leverette family. Above average fish size with occasional Gar or Striper. Good luck, post your review, please.
