I have been keeping an eye on what is going on at Lake Monroe Park. I talked with the parks dept. to day and they were hoping to be able to open the park area on Monday. I will check back with the parks dept. on Tue. to see what they decide. If the park is open, I will run down there and SEE how it is and the shape of the boat ramp. That will be my deciding factor. So just hang in there for a few more days and I'll let you know then.

how about LakE Dora. We had a huge crowd when we had it a few years ago. Because it was closer from all directions. They have a nice facility covered pavillion which needs to be reserved. gives you Lake Dora and Carlton close and if you wanna run to lake eustis and Harris you can.MT DORA FL.

Looking for anyone with an open seat. Not knowing much about any of the lakes, I'd rather go with someone that does.
I'd be able to help with fuel and bait and could also bring some food or deserts.
If anyone is willing to bring a newby to Florida it would be much appreciated.

I just got off the phone with Parks Dept. Lake Monroe park is still closed with no idea when it will be re-opened. I asked about the condition of the boat ramp and was told that it was damaged and they do not know if it has been repaired yet or not. With no estimate as to when the park will re-open I CANCELED the reservation for the SlabFest .

Thanks for the update, so sorry to hear about that. Billbob is coming to town and we're gonna have to have a get together for him in any case even if it's here at Griffin State Park. I'm about to travel to the EXPO so I will be in and out of touch. So unless someone wants to hold it at Lake Dora (cg1?) I will try to arrange something here at Griffin. Griffin has been good for fishing, not great, but good. You may have seen some of my pics. Short trips been producing 6 or so fish. And when I say short, I mean two hour trips.
