Member Bob D and Margo were down in Orlando and they wanted to go Scalloping, so of course, I was in! The problem was the season was not open nearby, so we booked a charter 3 hours from my house. Long day, but a great day. I forgot how much fun it is swimming around in what seems like an aquarium, finding scallops, and all sort of other critters.
I seen Starfish, Urchins, Snails, and all sort of fish. Here are a few pictures I thought I'd share.
Going out, yay. We went out of Keaton Beach, which seems like a super nice laid back area.
We went with Kenny Mullins, a super nice guide, an really knows his stuff. I've never found so many scallops so quick. They were not real big this time in the early season, but there were plenty.
Here's a pano pic, not sure how good this sill show when uploaded.
In essentially three hours Bob and I filled up a five gallon bucket. The two of us were the only ones going after them. Margo was just having fun in the sun. It was a gorgeous day.
Was work though, all that swimming tuckered me right out. That's what the creature of the black lagoon looks like when he first get out of the water! lol
Great trip Bob and Margo, lets do it again some time when you're down this way.
