Glad that you had a good trip up north. Nice going guys.
1st- Special shout out to TATERLICIOUS for enabling my mini-vacation to his stomping grounds = St. Augustine(America's oldest city) 2nd- Pull up a chair/tall bev o'choice...this'll last a minute! The venue o'choice has been a longtime fav o' mine, especially since my relocation here almost 20 years now. Met Travis @his 1st C.com get-together(Lake Monroe) earlier this year. After hearing of my endearment of St. Auggie he offered a "if you're ever up this way" invitation. After doing all the necessary "aligning" itinerary(hotel, dog-sitter, pack-up, Travis's tide o' choice etc.), I notified him for his feedback. Although he his busier then a flea-infested Gerbil, he said "let's do it"! The stage was set! Solo-fished with modest success for target speciesFLOUNDER and TROUT with a later, after dark meet-up with T-man. Later, his boat, we met @his destination/time o' choice... His 15' custom-rig w/50 hp Tohatsu 4-stroke(40 mph!) was an exhillirating experience in total darkness! Made about a 3 mile run on almost total slack-tide in no-time flat, where in only inches o' water, he commenced to poling us along with his custom-made Gigging-stick. He assigned my weaponry of his wife's PINK giggin'stick! He assigned me giggin-duty while be instructed on my maiden-voyage! All I can say is...are you kiddin' me?? They are SOO CAMOFLAGED that untrained eyes yielded the constant "WHERE??" Most of the time they are buried with ONLY their eyes showing!(both on one side FYI) Ideally, you're doing a head-shot to not damage the tasty flesh. New Florida law posession law is 5 per person/min. 14"- so we targeted/stuck ONLY obviously legal(to him) for obvious reasons. We were able to harvest 7 NICE ONES after only about 2 hours of my GONDOLA ride! The next early morning launch had my rig as vessel o'choice @his location o'choice with solo-stickin'(rods this time). Again, low-tide was our/his tide o' choice. Windy/untamed conditions unfortunately gained the upper hand for ALL three days/night of my trip, but with T-man's expertise ALL was doably good. My last day(solo) was NASTIEST of all 3 days with 20-30 mph winds dictating venue. With only one throwback FLATTIE it was time to punch-out/head West for the 3 Hour trek home. Great trip/Nice Meal afterward/new friend from C.com 'til next time...here's a few more pics-

Very nice flounder
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alongup2specks thanked you for this post
Typical of NE Florida during the Mahi run, it blows till they migrate past us, then the wind stops blowing lol. Not only can u not get offshore in anything less than a 50+' vessel but it makes the inshore just as difficult. We do ok for the conditions given, having to go to plan B and C spots to get it done. I thank Doug for dragging me off the job site for a few hrs for a little mental recalibration, I needed it lol. Till next time

A very good read of a trip that any of us with a pulse would enjoy. The frozer is no doubt pretty stuffed with flattie fillets. Glad the trip worked and you both had a good time and came home unscathed. I’m sure Raven was glad when Dad got home.
Actually Tim, although Tater gave me ALL Prisoners, the freezer is only skinny with filets, because of Mom Nature's upper-hand/modest take/donated fish to friends in need. Now, RAVEN, as you correctly surmised, HOLLERED @me for TWO MINUTES straight realtime. Like, Don't you EVER try this again...w/o ME!! = It was UNBELIEVABLE, and soo uncharacteristic behavior for him.
