20’ Xpress center console bay boat with a 115 Yamaha SHO

I attached rocket tubes to the back of the seat to hold rods while driving around, and use four of these to hold rods for trolling. Up front there is a seat and I mounted six bolt down rod holders there, for a total of ten rods. I could run all my roads from the back of the boat but I have a hand control TM.

The boat is able to go about 50 mph. It runs very shallow and I used the TM to navigate a creek that was about six feet wide and less than two feet deep. It will go places I never dreamed it would go.

We also use it for pleasure boating and it pulls tubes just fine. Plenty of room aboard for guests.

Plenty of walk around room. Being able to move about keeps me from getting so tired. Small boats where you sit in one spot make me tired. I like standing up and leaning on the seat to drive. It trailers down the road like a dream.

Mod V design hull does well for stability while trolling, however rough water will make it slap around and get rough. I don’t like to fish when it is rough so no issues.

The other boat I considered was the BassPro 2072 Grizzly with bow fishing platform. I figured to mount my rods along the railing. That is a big boat but I didn’t like the way they inserted the foam. They drilled a bunch of holes in the floor to shoot it in, and then placed silly little plastic caps to plug the holes. These were popping out of their display models. I figured it with the Mercury 150.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Boats are no different than wrenches in a toolbox.
Best to use the right one for the job at hand.
