Default WINNER at Slabfest Lake Griffin State Park

Haven't got any pictures, because I am not like SLAB with an arm long enough to take a selfy. I am sure that Slab has a picture that will show off my winning skills.
Had a great time, launched from Herlong park, Leesburg, motored up Lake Griffin and started to fish. Got into the hydrilla early, lost one fish due to the mess. Later met up with SLAB and BILLBOB. Trolled around and ended up keeping two for the trip home. Lots of other hungry fish, large mouth bass, blue gill and shad.

Big fish allowed me to take home the winnings of the event, a premium "CRAPPIE DOT COM fish pole and a insulated drink container, all complements of "CRAPPIE.COM" Thanks ED.
Great to see every one, along with the pet dogs.

Here’s the real winner. Biggest crappie ever taken off lake griffin today. Unbelievably huge, great job John.

I must say Johns Crappie was overwhelming. Moms potatoe salad as well. And that mexican dip from chuck and family sooo good. Subs were extra good from somwhere besides subway as well as cookies, cookies and more cookies. The crappie.com cake was just so so a little too sweet but i brought it so i can complain. Uptospecks new boat is awesome and bet even more awesome when he can troll with it.The brand new self deploying didnt want to deploy--sounds like some of my debacles. ,My new Garmin wont read bottom depth so i never knew shallow or deep scouting from the drivers seat, but trolling told me CAUSE MY TROLLING MOTOR WORKED YESTERDAY!
Lake Griffin is a hard one to read, but Slab and Billbob got it down i think. What was surprising to me was that fish were still out in that 6-8 foot water, and a tour of one of the canals showed me no fish in the bush or otherwise.Where Harris they have moved in a bit, no sign of it here. A report from a friend on the other end of Griffin says still out there as well.
I can say it was nice to see everyone as health has kept me down for a long time. I had so much fun that when we got unpacked, boat still in driveway, at 4 pm, shower and bed. I just now woke up 6:45 am. Well worth it. Nice i must say to meet some new members, 1 from my home state, Illinois, (tripletwins or is that double twins and 4 others from Missouri the show me state whose new home base is the villages. They also seado , so if you see a couple seados coming fast with a crappie pole in one hand it probably be them.lol Chucker seemed to be coming along good after a long spell of back surgery.Sharon and daughter had the new puppies that were going to be born the last time i saw them at Griffin, They are now 2. Today is back surgeon apt. which i need badly as i am all but crawling on some days, but you can be sure i wont be having any surgerys until crappie season is over unless it is an emergency. few days a week is still all i get to do with my energy level at zero most of the time.I keep oxygen in boat by Dr orders, but it is still better than last year where i got out twice. Thanks to my loving husband who takes real good care of me, cleans my fish, fixes my broken poles. fixes a burned out light and many other things including going to get my minnows lol.Had a great time folks just being there!
