    Default Rigging b+m telescopic poles

    Good morning,

Still new to the crappie game, but have mainly jig fished so far. Bought a few b+m telescoping cane poles to minnow fish and was wondering how everyone is tying their line to the pole. Do you just tie the line straight to the top eye of the pole or string it through the eye and tie directly to the pole itself? Haven’t seen any info on the topic.

    thanks for any info

I have not used one of those for a long time. Having said that, when I was using them I ran my line thru the eye and down the pole about 2'. There I tied the line off around the pole. After that I would go up to the eye and tie it off again.
My reasoning for the 2' up the pole was that I have had the pole break at the tip. This way I could save my pole and maybe even the fish. Hope you enjoy your poles.

Not sure if it like this rod or not but here is Pro Ronnie Capps setting up his telescopic pole. Around 6:12 mark he ties line on similar to Chucker said above.
