The reason for my comment. Today for the 3rd or 4th time i was on Lake Beauclair when the FWC came in with their boat they use for shocking bass to get updates on size, weight and growth habits and more.It stuns the all the fish in their pathway of a apx 17 foot boat with 4 or 5 of these wires hanging out the front all the way across. They drive into the weeds or reeds all the way to the shoreline if they can and then go around the entire lake in and out of the weeds or reeds writing down their information. Bass spawn is when crappie spawn is, and they say they need to do this during bass spawn. I said, but look what you are doing to the crappie and their beds--and the crappie themselves by stunning them when they are full of eggs or just hatched? If you have never been out on the waterways when this is happening, it is remarkable that they dont think they are bothering the spawn of bass or crappie? Ask the people that maintain the lakes in your area and see if they do this as well ? I dont like it just because it looks damaging to the weed beds and to the fish in my opinion. Let alone the actual beds already built.
