The vultures are feasting on the Plecos that got cold shocked a few days back and the Pelicans winter here. IMHO but the fishing was good.

Okay Thanks!! I’m going to continue hunting them. Will hit the shallows (6-8’) next near pads and grass . I’m glad to hear/see someone is catching them!!

Keith, like Skeet said, vultures we're eating the amoured catfish that die when we get a good cold snap, pelicans just migrating in area, Jesup actually has a island called "Bird island" & supposedly up to 10,000 species will pass through during the yr.

Conrod 1st stage started about a month ago shallow & now stage 2 has started were you can actually "sight" fish them shallow as they chase fry & boil the banks, have seen them do this in the river going out to Harney as well, but like clock work, they do it every year on Jesup... different lakes will have different spawning methods & time of yr.

Don't know much about that area, other than the only people I heard catching fish were shallow, hopefully the post spawn will be good on Woody within the month.

Real interesting reading about you guys spawn. Making me anxious! I'm atleast a good month away as the water where I fish is in the mid 40's and the night temps are still @ 30*-32* nightly. I'm catching a decent mess to eat but that's about it recently.
