    Default Santa Fe

Went before the dawn on Santa Fe for the first time just scouting it out today. It was really foggy, viz was about 100' we kept our lights on all day till we left it was weird. Didn't locate any schools of fish we didn't get to dissect the lake long enough but the ones we caught were studs. Fished 5 hrs for 11 fish with 5 keepers, the big one was 15 1/2" with half his tail bitten off. It weighed in at 1.82 pounds. Spyder rigging in the 30' hole pink moon jigs and brown and black mylar jigs caught all the fish . We had 15 rods out covering the entire water column but all but 2 fish were caught on the bottom. I plan to go back with a fleet next time so stay tuned Santa FeSanta FeName: IMG_20211227_120325983.jpg

You will catch a lot of specks out of Santa Fe with scars and fins missing from gars. Their are a bunch of them in that lake. I've had days where I left the lake cause I couldn't get away from the gars. I am no expert on Santa Fe but I can tell you from experience I catch more specks long linning than I do spider rigging.

    Nice scout trip. Good pic.
    Good job.
I finally got my boat down here and once I get off work in 12 days plan to get it wet either here or St. John's River or George's Lake. I hope I will learn and maybe even find a few that want to play.
I did catch these few off a dock on the St. John's. These are my first Florida Warmouth and Specks.Name: IMG_20211229_161355049_HDR.jpg
