    Default Lake Lochloosa info

I have some questions about the lake and surrounding area.

Is the fishing decent? What are the most common techniques? Is there grass in the lake?

Is Lochloosa Harbor resort a decent place? Is it safe and secure?

Any other places to stay close?

    Any good restaurants close by?

    Thanks in advance

Lots of fish in that lake, no trophies but u can fill a cooler no problem. Hawthorn is ur closest civilization for food and gas. I usually launch at the harbor because it's less crowded than the county ramp. I'd say 60% of people long line and 35% drift across the lake with the wind. I usually Spyder rig there. I find that longlining isn't as good a tactic there because those fish will group up in the little potholes scattered around the lake. By the time u get a couple bites ur already past the school and u gotta loop it wide to get back to it. Spyder rigging u can find those pods and sit right on em till they quit biting. Orange lake is just as good they are connected by a creek but the hydrilla is pretty thick around the sides of orange

Very good lake for numbers. Best time to go is January or February. Good eats in Hawthorn but the best is the Yearling. We go every year and stay at the Harbor.

Longlinning or spider rigging you should be able to limit out.
