    Has anyone fished the barge canal Welaka side trolling for specks and have any luck just asking?

    Haven't fished it this year, but I've caught some there before. It's a pretty good area to tuck up into if it's really windy. U can lock through to the rodman side it's better in my opinion

    I've been trying to go fish there but it's been chuck full of weeds. Don't know if it's open yet or not. If you go give us a report on the conditions.

    Fished the canal today and got shut out. Nothing, nada, zilch. I could only guess that they sprayed soooo much to kill the weeds off that the bait fish left the canal and the specks followed them. Never fish that area and got skunked. Oh well that's fishing.

    Dang Anchor, if you got skunked there, I am not going anywhere near it....they've sprayed that canal with Diquat several times this summer and just a couple weeks ago..

    Maybe next time before spraying the need to open the lock and let it flow to the st johns for manatee food
