Good job there Doug! Much better day than I had. Good lookin flounder too.
be on your "to do" list when forecasted Florida heat indeces exceed 100 degrees!! "You Scream, I scream, we ALL scream for ICE CREAM!" Ready, willing & able to satisfy my Itchin' for Switchin'-I chose one of my favored "multi-flavored" s/w spots here on the Fl. West-Central coast. Mother Nature had a very suitable wind-forecast(10 knots) with a rising tide(my fav) that helped escalate my expectations to high values. Although the speckled trout bite was somewhat stingier than what I had expected, the variety of species brought to net, easily overcame that. Twelve varieties made their way over the gunnels today with 4 species of those entering the ice-bath for the trip back home(re- Redfish, Flounder, Grouper, Trout, Sea bass, Whiting, Catfish, Jack Crevalle, Pufferfish, Needlefish, Bluefish, Ladyfish) With Snook season opening on Sept. 1st, I was hoping for the workout they provide but it just didn't happen. Plenty wide-shouldered adversaries were enjoyed this day but the TAW(tug-a-ward) easily went to the undersized 19" Gag Grouper(24" pinch-tail minimum){these guys fight like a Smallmouth bass on Steroids!} My med-light, artificial-only spinning tackle choice makes it that much more enjoyable. Great lures today were the Gulp shrimp(unfortunately, the toothy pufferfish destroy the $1 baits) and the Vudu Shrimp both fished on homemade 3/16 oz alewife color, powder-coated heads. Many manatee sightings during this trip. Thanks for reading about my obsession = You really can not beat the diversity/suspense of the Salt-side outings...enjoy the pics. Remember- Most, non-deeply "V tail" species have a Pinch-tail measurement within FWC Saltwater regs. (eg- Trout was ptm @19", Redfish was ptm @23")

Wow another great trip to the salty side. My daddy was a flounder fisherman and he would have been very proud of your flattie. I enjoy your fun to read fishing reports and the super pics you post. Tight Lines.
