You talking about the puppy. Yeah, even before I make one move to get ready to go fishing, he knows already. He gets all excited and does make me take him.

Caught eight fish yes, but only six were crappie, one was a gar. And the other was a huge bluegill that took my rod tip deep into the water. I thought for sure it was a gar. The puppy went nuts on him so I quickly threw him in the water so he had a chance to live. Doh

All released and still swimming, hopefully!

Your dog is keying in on something you do every time you go fishing, but never do when you are not. He sees it, whatever it might be, and he knows what you are planning. They pattern us.

My wife’s chihuahua can detect when we are going to go somewhere. I mean other than to work. Starts whining long before we ever begin to prepare. She detects something in our speech I imagine. She knows things about us. My schnauzer however isn’t very bright. Kind of dumb actually. He likes to shoot out as the garage door opens and pounce upon his victims. Always wondered how he knew I was going to go open that door. Comes running in anticipation long before I actually make my move. Then one day I slipped my slippers on and here he came. That was his key and it still works today.

Yep, he figured me out, and I have not. Dogs smarter than I. I get it, if I put my hat on, or even get a diet MT. dew out of the fridge to take with. I know that'll set him off. Those "signals" are easy to figure out. But I go out of my way to not "signal" him, and he still knows! I'm telling you, dogs can read minds. No doubt about it! Darn thing is smarter than I am. Shsush "G"! no comments from the peanut gallery! lol
