    Default happy st pat's day

I was able to get out on the water for a little while this morning. Got a little later start than I wanted, but it was better than not going. The lake was just the way I like it when I put the rods out. I have been playing with making some soft plastic and wanted to see how the would do. So I set out 6 rods. Three and three. Three with my home made lures and three with my tried and true lures.

It didn't take long for one of the rods to bend and the first keeper came on board. Good old tried and true strikes again. A few yards further along and a rod bends again. Number two comes on board ( still the store bought lures) but before I can get the fish out of the net, another rod goes off, with the first fish still in the net I pick up his friend. Two not in the box.

I settle down, get my cup of coffee and one of Paula's muffins when another rod goes off. This time it is on my home made lure. SUCCESS !!

By this time I noticed that the wind had really picked up. We were getting a chop on the water and the boat was harder to control.

I had boated one more fish but I put him back to grow up some more.

That was it. I pulled the rods and fired up the big motor. Back on the trailer by 10:30.

It was a shore but good day on the water. Fish for dinner and my new hobby even contributed to the meal.

    until next time,

    tight lines and full nets

    see you on the water.

    Jim

another good day at the office !

I’m glad to hear your new hobby is working for you. I liked the conditions I saw as I drove by the lake, wish I could’ve gotten out. Maybe this weekend......
