Departing the west side @o'dark thirty revealed a temperature reading of 45* which is considered brisk/chilly/cold for Florida thin-skinners! Factor in a 28 mph (non-console) 4 mile "skip-a-stone" boat ride, conjured up a thermos full of fresh, piping-hot German coffee, insulated coveralls/face shield to help usher me to the long-line trolling grounds.Name: 20210309_081211.jpg

Size: 94.1 KB Bright, wind favorable NORTHerlies(<10), cloud-free conditions would change to >bEASTerlies(+15's), so a technique change(single pole) was earmarked. Boat traffic was almost non-existent(5) on both the NDR/Woody boat ride which yielded a slight amount of tentativity but I also wanted to scope out/expand more fishing folder-fodder. Only three throwbacks total in today's cooler of 14 of decent size specks with about a 50/50 yield on both techniques. Better size fish(>14')were taken again while single-poling mostly w/minnow-bobber. Also scoped out Tick canal(2 fish)[big change since last fishing 8 years ago] and also Deleon Springs canal[1st time(0 fish)]. Both areas had only a handful of "ready to cast" spots that could be remedied by a hyacinth "modification" but I really didn't want to bother. The highlight trolling bait was a Kalin triple threat Scrub jig in Acid rain on a 1/16 oz head beetle-spin or Road runner(wanted the flash). Even fruitlessly tried an hour's worth of SLOW bobber/minnow trolling. Finished the day in NDR s/p on existing/new spots to cap off quite the variance from coveralls to shorts(warmed to mid 70's). Thanks for coming along-
