    Default St. John's River

Looking for a place to stay around Deland on or around St. John's river next winter to do some fishing. Or maybe around Leesburg never fished either. Just looking for a place to go next winter for a couple weeks to get out of Indiana snow & ice.

    Thanks for any help !!

Fishermans cove in Tavares on Lake Harris has campsites if you have a trailer, if not they have cabins and hotel rooms. Boat launch in park, wet slips, drystack, laundromat, pool, fitness center and more. 45 minutes from Lake Monroe and surrounding area.

Thanks huntinslabs I will be sure to check it out. I have been looking at the Riveria Resort & Marina over on the St. John river but will definitely check your suggestion out. I am looking for a cabin with kitchenette.

Riviera is also in a good area with lake beresford close by. Lots of good fishing nearby, I’m just a little south of there.

Have you contacted the Rivera yet? as of last year they had a long waiting list. I stay in Deland at Highland fish camp, they have nice cabins with utensils, bedding etc.. Highland isnt fancy no swimming pool, tennis courts etc. although as of this past week have a food truck that offers breakfast and lunch. give Bryn or James a call at 1-800-525-3477 they are good people. obtw Ive stayed at a few other camps on the river and prefer Highland.
I noticed your from Indiana, there are a few people at Highland from the Hoosier state and a few Buckeyes too.

Try Riverbend condos Neer Welaka on the Saint Johns River just north of lake George. Call Nancy at (386) 467-2900 or check online at Riverbenbcondoresort.com and click on rates that bring up rentals and calendar.

I second Welaka instead of Deland. The river at Deland is somewhat narrow and has a noticeable current. The river at Welaka is very wide with no noticeable current. Plus, there is more variety of water terrane there. If you want flowing water, you can go up into the Oklawaha. If you want "lake" fishing, just pop into Little Lake George or even further into Big Lake George.
