    Default Goosebumps in Florida are

typically associated with our seasonal temp drop but are the harbinger of Stellar fish activity in both the fresh & saltwater venues. Yesterday's SW trip was only fractionally seasoned by that, but moreover flavored by the intel gathered just 2 days prior plus tide/weather forecast/low boat #s. My 3rd cast "Bonfire kindling" was assigned to a feisty, well-shouldered 18" Snook that was released. Awaiting just 7 casts later was big trout of the day that measured a freckle under 20"Name: 20201207_195140.jpg

Size: 99.5 KB =GB's on the rise! At this point, I realized that a decision was needed as to what level I was to "set the bar". Feeling the pump of the early results and knowing FL's 5 fish/15" I decided to reach for the stars @18" minimum=NICE trout folks. My mindset(5 yr. old's 2nd visit to the candy store) was positively massaged throughout my non-stop, artificial-only casting workout. Many rewards were gained although nice fish were being sent home because of a disappointing eye disease = too close to tail!! Lost a few monsters before visual yesterday, but that's quite OK- I had my 5 that met my standard plus fun to catch/eat Ladyfish(aka babycakes)Name: 20201207_214143.jpg

Great pics and story as usual! I too would like to hear how you prepare the ladyfish. I've heard of spooning out the meat and making something similar to crab cakes with them...is that what you're doing with the "babycakes?"

#1 is proper bone-free cleaning! Easy, non-professional filet job leaving scales/skin intact. Then with large soup spoon scrape from tail to gill, progress to skeleton scrape. Roll the soft, bone-free meat in bowl. Using a crabcake type recipe with veggie/spices that you like make up your "babycakes". I also use(not really needed), broiled trout(or other white fish, including crappie) to gently fold into LF to imitate lump crab meat. Don't forget the Old Bay and you'll be the envy of your guests. hint- Don't tell them your LF news...until there all GONE!Goosebumps in Florida areGoosebumps in Florida are

Yes that's right, actually found out via YT about 6 weeks ago....waiting to try method on Florida's seldom caught chain pickerel that has a zillion bones also very nice, mild meat. Tartar sauce or your favorite dipping sauce is the icing on your babycake!Goosebumps in Florida are
