And that was what I was blessed with. And dandies at that. Not giants but thick, respectable crappie. Put in late , near 8 and pulled before noon. Didn’t go far from the ramp and threw anything that wasn’t thick and looked like it might need to be measured back. Lost a couple that might have made the cut, one for sure that I bumped the line with the net and he came unbuttoned. Action was slow but steady with some long spells between fish a few times. 3 small stripers came to visit, fast movers and no mistaking what they were before they were seen.

My good friend Phil will be moving back to Arizona later this week and yesterday was spent helping him with errands I could do and load what I could in his trailer. I don’t have many and truly hate to see him go, but his heart has never really been here. His wife got a very good job at the school she worked at before they came here. Things are going well and it looks like this was meant to be. So the fish I caught today were cooked and he came over to share a meal with us that he and his family always enjoyed. His wife doesn’t like fish but loved my crappie and would eat none anywhere else. I’ll miss her and Hannah too. All I can do is wish them the best and stay in touch.

A few pics from today and never saw anything from the air show in nearby Sanford other than a large prop transport that lumbered along over town. Wind was low for most of the day but stiffened about 10:30 making boat control a bit testy. Not many other boats out today, hopes for more to show this Saturday for the Slabfest. Hope to see y’all then.......Skeet Name: 969382E5-78F8-48A0-83A3-9E3709C960F1.jpg
