    Default Griffin 03/21/20

Got out late with the family for a quick trip on Griffin.
Light wind, hot and not overly busy. Fickle bite, caught 28, kept 14 of the better ones, lots of throw backs. Long lined most, caught a few under porcupine quills with the kids. Bass bit all day and with size.
Have yet to cut fish, but they look post spawn for sure. Fish were spread out but they still were biting, slowly.

I don’t mind sharing information, or I wouldn’t be on here. Not sure why everyone stays so tight lipped.
You can give info with out giving everything away.
I didn’t do too well on the East side, mostly west. Slow troll~ long lined 40’ off weed line on west side. 1/16 ounce jig head, White on white, white with glitter or the like was the color, no fish caught on other colors. tipped with minnow, speed .8-.9, into wind against wind didn’t matter.
A lot of shorts caught. Didn’t really want to fish Griffin but Toho bait stores closed early.

I hope you get them with all of this virus stiff bearing down.

12 crappie under 10" and 4 bass 1 was probably 3lbs was a chore to get in on 6lb test
long lined 1/32 and 1/16 caught on mix. New trolling isn't here yet so I was cooking along at 1.3 1.5mph
#70 motor guide slow as it goes.. Started on side of my dream house on island for 3 hours .
Didn't care not bringing home keepers. Took my 17 year old girl.. you know how they are, after 15min at start she said this is crazy. Until poles started going off. She put the phone away, said no time for phone...Finally..lol That was only with 4 poles...I said next time im bringing 6...

Glad you had a great time with your daughter. I’m an offshore guy as well so details stick with me.
Feel free to PM if you get out fishing around that area to share the details. I’ll do the same.

Also, next time, if your trolling motor won’t let you slow down, just let out a lot more line, and bump the TM in and out a bit. Also, when I cleaned fish, no ROE.

    Good luck, J
