Took some time off from crappie fishing, getting some personal affairs in order, but this morning the itch got too strong...soooo...long-line trolled the St. John's mid-lower river system, mostly overcast/ 85F water/ 5 ft. depth, yep the river is down 3 ft. as to normal level, down this way...dark colors & white-glimmer oddly worked to same success rate, all were released to swim another day...the 1st hit was on the modified beetle-spin to the tune of a 3# beat up LM, only crossed 1 line, so I sensed luck might be on my side & the bite stayed steady til 10am, picked up 16 more between 11"-15", certainly enough to satisfy a steamy June outing...also lost 3 baits to big Gar, couple surfacing were over 4 ft long & suspect the culprit that got a hold of the bass I caught...a few pics from the morning, good comparison of a 11" fish vs a 15"er in the double-up net job...tight lines all...
