Look up Gary's Tackle Box. They are a tackle store in Gainesville. They have a good fishing report of the local lakes(Lochloosa, orange, santa fe) on line.
I checked the weather and this coming Tuesday looks like a good day to wet a line. I'm gonna head down to Orange Lake. Anyone been there recently and got anything to report? I'm thinking the water level could be up a bit. I'm wondering if they're gonna be shallow or should I stay out in the open water?
Thanks.

Spoke to a guy after church Sunday, he went to Orange Lake last Wed. Said he ended up with 15 good ones to keep and that many more dinks between him and his wife.
Slow today with many boats gettin 2-3 by noon at Orange.

We got to get down to Orange again. We fished Santa Fe Tuesday and it was slow there also. A flat calm surface never makes for a good day for us. We pushed jigs with plastic and landed 42 and only 2 were keepers. But it sure was a nice day on the lake anyway.
I don't mind sharing where I caught my fish.
Most was caught in their mouth.Davedirt LIKED above post

I wasn't able to make it Tuesday but got there Wednesday and it was slow bite. I ended up with 6 crappie, 2 bass which I released and a 4 lb. catfish. I caught 4 male crappie trolling jigs at 8-10'. The 2 females I caught were next to shoreline vegetation and they had mature roe in them. Most folks I talked to at the Marjorie Rawlings ramp said about the same. They had to cull a bunch of dinks to get 10"+ keepers. Everyone I talked to seem to be adhering to a 10" self imposed size limit for keepers. I did learn I was not using enough lead for trolling. I was using a no. 3 split shot 12" above a curly tail jig and found out I should have been using a half ounce egg sinker instead. I also found out that jigs with glitter on them out performed all others. I'm gonna head back down to Orange on Monday before the next band of rains roll in.
