Slow bite today we managed 1 nice speck pushing minnows, then the cranking battery died, nobody around but gators too. I used a trolling battery to start the big motor. Im spending as much time at Walmart as I am fishing, lol spirits still good though.

    Default ST JOHNS HELP

Just wanted to update everyone on how we did this weekend. Ended up catching 29 total. We had two over 15 inches”” and 6 over 14”” inches. I know that’s not a lot of fish or the biggest up around these parts but we sure had a fun weekend and will be back! Thanks for all the tips and info.

Nice mess, 15" is a good fish - I see some fat ones mixed in there
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

All the ones we caught were tight in cover and pretty shallow. Also they were all caught in wood meaning a fallen down tree, stump, some sort of structure. We had minnows out with corks but also jig fished every spot as well. We moved around a lot too. We definitely had to work for them so dont get discouraged easily. Like I said we really don’t know what we’’re doing either lol I’m sure there’s plenty of people on here who could help you better that’s just what seemed to work a little for us. Good luck on your trip!
