Thanks for the heads up and they are great deals. Bigger than I use on regular basis. I swing mostly 2000 and 2500 series inshore. Have a few 4000 series when the need arises. Did sign up for emails though.
I know there's a lot of guys who like to get salty on here so thought I'd share. Great deal on the PENN Pursuit II combos at $30 and $35, regularly $59.99-$69.99. I ordered a 4000 and 6000 to keep in Florida and just ordered 4 more PENN Pursuit II 4000 combos to keep in Indiana to setup for wipers(hybrid striped bass) this spring.

I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to like the Penn spinning reels. I have a bunch of buddies that love em, but something just don't feel right when I use them. Who knows.
I understand. I love Penn and cant seem to like Shimano except the IX1000 for longlining

That’s a good deal on salt water designed products. My only complaint with penn spinning reels was the balance of the rotor and bail, gave a lot of wobble unlike other brands. They do last longer than most anything else in its price range in salt water. There is also no antique penn reels, parts still available for every penn reel ever made. I know that’s true for the winch type reels (conventional?).
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
The last 2 Penns I bought we’re bad right out of the box a 2000 battle 2 and a 2500 conflict 2 the conflict was hammering hard when reeling and the battle was hard to reel. I just picked up the new daiwa saltist back bay lt 4000 I cant wait for snook season to open back up in a few weeks.
Greenedog- Thanks for the post, always appreciative for current promotional fishing items at a savings. Although I don't personally have experience with the Pursuit series, I can vouch strongly for the Battle(original) and the Battle II series rods and reels = own several that are extremely saltwater environment/large fish tested. I also opt to fish the light series combos(1000/2000) in my piscatorial pursuits! Usually find great deals including free shpng./no tax on ebay or amazon, depending on your timing, some Battle II sizes have deep discounts.

I watched a 30 lb blackfin tuna melt a 4000 Battle II. I think it was the rod/reels third trip. Managed to get the fish in but the reel was shot afterwards.
But, then again, those big blackfins will put the hurt on a reel.
Problem is that you guys are buying the (new) ones. lol
4000 series, 5 thou, 6 thou, and up (made in Philly) models were/ are, the better ones.
Same as the old star drag conventionals, 3/0 4/0 6/0, just wont die, and the drags are the same as the lever models.
The lever model TLDs are junk compared to an old Penn.
Check out the prices clean older Penns are bringing on Ebay, theres a good reason for that.
