    Default Harney 12-18-18

Could have titled this, the one that got away, but to that in a bit. Drove by the ramp on the way home from 3rd shift & to my surprise seen a full parking lot. Was so gorgeous weather wise, couldn't resist, so got home & hem-ha'd around a while, getting gas ect....finally launching at 10am & fished til 2pm. Found fish scattered with no real "hot" area & ended up with 15 as hostages before pic/release. Was about 6 boats fishing the river run out to lake, asked 1 gent if anything happening, replied ok, as he was bringing 1 to the boat. Water is low & should produce a great shad run in a month or so. Now it was time to go home to power nap 6hrs, but went down agonizing over the 1 that got away, lost transforming a net sweep, while trying to keep pressure on the 10ft pole. Was easily the best fish this year, but I guess it will have to serve as the reason to go back after him/her the next trip....tight lines all....

Some good hostages and a good report of a power trip. Impromptu can be a real knockout. I went yesterday also but that story will be told by another and I won’t steal his Christmas Thunder. Hope you get out again soon and find that large one.

Great report, I had similar results a couple weekends ago. Your are right about the water being low, I found the sandbar when I went & it was

less than knee deep, I had to get in the water at 6am & push the boat before I got ran over by the other boats I could hear coming.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Glad you decided to go fishing that day. Hope Harney turns on for you. A little too far for me to run to this year. I would like to make a trip to Monroe.

    Hey Iron Man.
Just can't do those before or after work trips anymore I run out of gas.................
As for the full parking lot, nobody works in Florida. Don't think it was all the old retired goobers fishing. Good thing you got that trip in, looks like it's going to be a little rough the next couple of days
    Shad.......Shad..........Shad..........can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
