Some nice looking fish, and a good dinner.
Hooked up the boat this morning before sunrise in hopes to hit my stomping grounds in Floral City Pool when I ran into a packed packing lot and boat dock for some kind of tournament. Decided to hitch it to Inverness to try my luck in that chain of lakes.

Really nice sizes coming out of big Henderson. Steady catch most of the morning, dwindling off in early afternoon. Fishing different patterns across the lake. Gave little Henderson a couple long drifts after that and notta bite. Ended up moving over to Spivey mid-afternoon / late evening. Steady catch there as well, albeit more dinks than in big Henderson.
Wrapped up the day with about 10 specks, keeping 6. My buddy caught a nice sized bass, too.
Good to see Henderson still producing. I used to fish this lake a LOT when my dad lived off one its canals. Now that I live in FC, I don't frequent it as much, but that's about to change after today. My main issue with this lake is the amount of traffic it has. After about 11AM you get a lot of noise and wake, even worse towards mid-afternoon.
Something to note for those who haven't been here or haven't been in a while. The Gospel Island bridge that connects to little Henderson is a bit dicey right now. If you've got any kind of Bimini top or vertical fishing rods, lay them down. It's a tight squeeze with the water level being so high!
While we didn't slay 'em all day, it was still beautiful weather. Perfect breeze and temperature all day long.
See you fellas out there!

Great report & nice fish, good to see activity from another area of the state not too often spoke of.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
