Nice fish, did you only catch 2?

Rented a cabin on the north end of Lake George. Wife and I caught our biggest Crappie since moving here 3 yrs ago. Both were just under 2 lbs. Caught all the fish in a channel off the river along the shoreline. Didn't like this area of the river as well as the Astor or Deland area for there was hardly any weeds along the shore. People we talked to said the hurricane took the weeds with it. All in all was a very relaxing time. There is hardly anything around their so was very peaceful. Cabins were nice and very reasonably priced. Owners and staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I give a thumbs up to Georgetown Lodge and Marina.

Thanks for the info as my wife and I will be down for 6+weeks in March/April and staying in the Welaka area. We noticed the same thing last year (first time down to fish)about the weeds and were told the hurricane took them out but they were starting to return. We stayed at Rivers Edge camp ground with our fifth wheel two years ago and really liked that area and the people are down to earth .
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !
Nice catch and post.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
Does the marina at the cabins, rent boats?
Not set up to tow anything at the moment....sounds like a nice place to spend a few days!
