    Default Stick Marsh/Farm 13

Does anyone here fish Stick Marsh/Farm 13 for crappie? I know it's a big bass hole and that is catch and release but I was wondering about crappie fishing there as well as at Miami Garcia and Lake Blue Cypress. I understand that with the exception of Lake Blue Cypress they are all part of the Upper St. Johns River Restoration Project. Also would it be safe to eat crappie from those waters?
    Thanks

I've fished Farm Pond twice this year, in beginning of December was the 1st trip with a friend & it was phenomenal....2 limits by 9:30am with 18 or so of the 50 bigger than 14".....couldn't make it back til' a week & 1/2 ago in February & caught 1 limit w/2 guys fishing til' 3:30pm fish more scattered the 2nd trip, but had a couple low 2 lbers in the mix & wasn't a bad day considering all trips can't be like the 1st one was....the Jim Porter (Guide for Stick/Farm Pond many years) site states March/April is the hottest time there for crappie due to the spawn.....To answer your other question all meat from cleaned fish looked good= no worms, ect....& none came home with 3 eyes , so I image are safe & have heard no different. Good luck if ya go & don't be surprised to hook in to some bass to test your lite tackle, we caught around 6 each trip....

I primarily fish the bank and C-54. I used to fish it quite often out of my gheenoe a few years back. Once you locate them and pattern them, the lake produces VERY nice bags. Have never had ANY issues with the fishing or quality of meat. This is a pic from a few weeks ago jigging the shoreline for a few hours. Name: FB_IMG_1521078431255.jpg

If you get a chance fish Blue Cypress. Beautiful lake. Great crappie, bream, shellcracker and cqtfish fishing this time of year.
