Default I caught a crappie without hooking the fish!

Has anyone ever have this happen to them. It's crazy. The hook is not through any part of this crappie. It's simply wedged in it's mouth. I was shocked I bought it all the way to the boat and it just hung there. One little shake and it fell right off. It was like pulling in a wet rag when it happened. The fish musta freaked out too cause it did not fight at all as I bought it in.

That’s just too cool! Similar story, I was fishing, caught a smallish white bass. Around 8”. A largemouth took the white bass, that lodged sideways. Pulled it in without much fight, and when slack got in the line, it just dropped on the dock.Name: IMG_1517880202.721067.jpg

Ed, did you ever hold a fish by its lower jaw with its mouth open? Did it stop thrashing around and fighting? Same principal here. The jig had its lower jaw held wide open. Hence it didn’t fight. I’ve had the same deal when a crankbait got hung in a fish’s mouth top to bottom.
