Sounds like you are catching on. Rained here all day and windy
I hit the ramp around 7 AM hoping to get a parking spot. But to my surprise I was the only one there. Now I really started to worry !! What do they know that I don't !! ( a cold front ??? ) Well I'm here so lets give it a try.
There was a brisk south wind and a good chop on the lake as I headed out. I pointed the boat to the first sign marker and turned on the new fish finder ( from Santa ). Then I turned east to run the sign line ,testing out the new mapping feature. When I got to sign #1, I turned the boat to set up a brisk drift back. I set out 4 rods and poured myself a cup of coffee.
A rod goes off and the first keeper of the day comes on board. I reset the rod and it goes off again, but gets off. I swing around and make another pass. The same rod does it again. I check the setup and start to change the other rods over to the same type of set up. It works !!
I made two more passes over that route. I boated over 14 fish but only kept 3 for the ride home. All four rods contributed to the action today. I think I might be getting the knack of this fishing thing.
The wind was brisk and the waves growing so I point the tracker towards the ramp and headed in. I was back on the trailer by 10 AM.
Sounds like a good day. Cold rain here all day changing to sleet/snow tonight. Waiting for a little better weather.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!Slimjim1 LIKED above post
Good day Jim. I like a smart man that heads for the ramp while things are still in control. I bet you had fun!
