    Default St. Johns River

    I usually fish between Lake George and Woodruff. How is the area between Woodruff and Monroe? Any suggestions?

    Hey guys I am from North Carolina and I will be fishing this area of the St John's first week of March for the first time. Is that too late in the spring for this area and what are some jig colors to start with?

    Grizzly;
    I fish the are between Lake George and Dexter from Feb thru April and do well. Some days are better than others. I like red with chartreuse tail, all chartreuse and white. I like to single pole jig. Good Luck and be careful.

    Grizzly, If you plan on trolling, 1/16 oz roadrunners with pink and chartreuse grubs are a must have. Also trolling with pink and white tubes on the roadrunners have worked good for me over the years. JC

    Thanks for the pointers guys that definitely gives me a starting point. I'm looking forward to seeing and experiencing that part of Florida and fishing the St John's for the first time.

    I really do appreciate the advice... I have been a little nervous about being that far from my "comfort zone" but I am looking forward to the trip and the time with my brother and old man. If we catch fish that's just an added bonus. I have wanted to fish the St John's since I was a little boy.
