Well, I had been using it and it was working fine when it started that (GPS Module Not Responding). I believe I had good electric,
way back I went through the fuse issues = wound up with flat fuse with waterproof case etc, etc ...
What I suspect is that the wire/plug from the GPS antenna (external) was not making good contact somehow (it is on a plug that
twist-locks on etc, etc .......
Then again, it could be the unit is indeed giving up the ghost, just being intermittent about it. Only one way to find out = take it out and see how it's going to act ect, etc ......
But I know dang good and well if I sent this new unit back, my old unit would definitely go bonk ! ! ! Therefore, I've decided to
just 5200 my new transducer in the bilge beside my other one and hook up new 12V wiring parallel with old wiring, that way I can use either one (in case one goes out) = I checked, new one will fit in old one's mounting bracket etc, etc, etc .....
Also, don't care for this "internal" GPS antenna, if I'd of only had internal on my old one, it would've been trashed long time ago when antenna went out on it etc, etc..... I figure that's the way they want it (no external antenna) so ya gotta trash em when the antenna goes out, but ................ I digress ..................
Don't really care to install one up front etc, etc, etc ........
