    Default Little rat dog...

I got bit by moms new dog. The thing hates me. It loves my mom and daughter. Never showed any aggression towards them, but I'm a different story. The thing growls at me every time it sees me, and just hates me. Must think I'm the mail man, or just hates all men, dono.

So I fed it a treat. It actually growls at me but takes the treat. I reach down to pet it, and snap, snap, snap! I'm not really afraid of dogs so I had just made a fist and don't pull away (like an idiot). I did not want the dog to win, or learn that I was afraid. Well, that was a mistake. snap, snap, snap turned into a visit to the immediate care center this morning! My hand bled only a little, and really did not hurt, but two hours after the incident it hurt like heck. I could not believe it. I could not sleep cause of the pain and ended up going to the immediate care center for antibiotics just now. Dang it.

Here's the angel with my mom!

Here is it right after the bite.

And here it is two hours later all swollen up. I even took my ring off just in case. It hurt like heck.

I iced it last night and it was a tad better, but now hopefully ibuprofen and antibiotics will do the trick.

All he needs is a attitude adjustment. Bring him to me for a week. New dog when you pick him back up.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

little rat is just being protective. MY dog Yadi a paperanian/pomi mix will be sleeping with us, I get up to take them out and when they get back in bed with the sleeping princess, she will growl fiercely at me. From MY SPOT in bed! She then gets up and jumps and sits next to me on my recliner. Damn thing!

that looks bad Slab! has to be frustrating but I trained dogs for long time but not lil tempermental ones like this. you did the proper thing, with the treat and letting him sniff you. good luck!

My niece did this and it worked. She had a dog that was impossible to live with. She held it on it's back and made direct eye contact with it. After a little while the dog looked away signaling submission. It was a changed dog after that. In your case Slab you better put on a pair of leather gloves. If you try it let us know if it works. Good luck.

That hurts just to look at it.
Hope that you can get him to accept you.
I guess that you are going to have to spend more time at mamas house to acclimate you to the dog.

Dogs don't like being stared at, especially by people they don't like.
And maybe he suffers from little dog syndrome, seems to me many of them do.
