Y'all stay safe and stay away from the idiots that come out in droves during stuff like this.

Okay, so what's the plywood taped to the tail gate for?

My guess is that the plywood prevent the tailgate from flexing when they drop those sand bags on it.

no reason, it was there from when I moved some other stuff and did not want to scratch the crud out of it and I never took it off.

Not to be taking lightly. This could be very serious, and in a heartbeat. Been though several. Fill up your bathtubs full of water as well as tubs you might have around etc. Water is primary in events such as this. Then, deal with food, batteries, etc. Also include food for for pets. Evacuation at this point, or very shortly, would probably be pointless - and irresponsible.

What bothers me is that many folks that live there now don't have a clue what this does. Haven't been there long enough. Fill up some sand bags and go back to the house. People will die over this, others will have their lives destroyed. Many will say "I should have done this.....". Should, and did, are two very different things.

Just saying folks, ya'll take care - and, most importantly, be safe. That's what I've got to say about that. I'm sticking to it - it's the way I roll.

Strength predicted to be a #3 in this area when it comes here.
I think that's what last year's one (Mathew) was.
Still, got to get up there on roof and take dad-gummed Ham antenna down .... again ....... ! ! !
I think they said, if the eye stays offshore, our winds will be approx 70-80mph (bout what Mathew was) ....
    Will see ..........................
