    Default tried crabbing today

My wife , Paula, and i went over to the coast to try our luck with catching some blue crabs. It turned out to be a nice morning. We didn't have to get before dawn to go and we had rest rooms close by. Things that my wife finds to be of great benefit to her.

We did not do bad, we brought home 33 crabs.

another good day at the office !

Nice day. Hopefully the sea grass continues to improve to help attract more blue crabs back again.

Interesting bit of information if you have not seen it, this is only a small portion of the news feed

Recreational Crab Fishing Closes in Playalinda District of Canaveral National Seashore
    Effective May 22, 2017

Effective May 22, 2017, recreational crab fishing along Mosquito Lagoon in the Playalinda district of Canaveral National Seashore will be prohibited. Park staff is evaluating associated safety concerns and the activity’s impact to park resources. The protection of visitors and wildlife is paramount to the mission of Canaveral National Seashore.

Beginning at the entrance to the seashore and along the beach road including Eddy Creek, this activity will no longer be permitted. Hand-held crab lines attract alligators and increase interactions with those crabbing. Abandoned crab lines have entangled wildlife, and threatens their safety.

    More regs!
If your having any fun, they seem to find a way to shut it down. Like lead poisening from sinkers or shooting ranges...gimmie a break.

I imagine it will not be long before all shore fishing is shut down in the entir refuge. Gigantic litter problems. They keep shutting down Haulover as the trash accumulates faster than the park service can clean it up. Shame actually. Then the people making the mess will be screaming foul.

Yep! In this case, the many will ruin it, for the few. Always seem to carry home, more trash than I bring out.
Funny, or not so, full beer and Coke cans, must weigh more, when their empty! These folks just can seem to carry those heavy empty cans out.Biggest offender, unfortunately is "fishermen", lots of cheap mono.....

When ever I am out, I will pick up any trash that I find. When I crab, its off of some public docks and I spend a good amount of time cleaning up the area. I like to leave it looking cleaner then when I found it. Same on the water too.
