It's amazing how one is always learning, even as we get old etc, etc ...
First time in 11 years I forgot the boat key .........
I recall that Slabfest we had at Monroe that year and I got there and put boat in the water
then realized, I'd forgotten the trolling motor lol .........

    Good luck Mike and crew
Better get that stuff straightened out. We gotta get you a redfish.

Well my son got a late call and had to work so just me and boy to be went. Fishing reports were Spanish Macks and Jersey Blues on the beach and Sheephead on the shallow reefs with Trout, Snook and Redfish inshore. Fished bridges and docks on way to inlet with a few Jacks as reward for our effort. Ran 8 miles south from inlet looking for birds or fish busting and nothing showed. Pulled back and hit 3 shallow reefs and nada. Headed inshore and the reds and snook were waiting. Managed to boat 3 underslot Snook, hooked a big snook that looked in slot or over but he pulled the hook. Hooked up with 2 big reds myself and mancub hooked 1 big girl but none made the boat. Picked off several underslot Sheephead, a 20" Weakfish and piles of jacks along with the mauraders, pinfish and Mangrove Snapper. Had a ball and these are the days that humble a man but keep ya coming back. Hope everyone had a great day.

Oh and the water over there is cleaner than I have seen it in a loooong time. I know we need rain and I am hoping for some soon, but dang sure hope it dont muck up that water. Sightfishing 5' deep is amazing.

Good to see y'all this morning. We had a good day, albeit short. For where we fished, it was a good day and we left when the traffic built and the speed demons became too frequent. Jeremy had a good day and learned a few things. Too bad some of those mangroves wouldn't stretch to table fare. I always liked those.
