    Default Vacation Help Needed.

My family and I have plans to visit the Orlando area the week of April 8th thru 15th. I was hoping some of you would give me some advice. I have a 17' Bass Tracker but I don't know if it will be coming with us. Mechanically it is fine but I don't want to ever leave it at the condo and I would hate to drag it everywhere we go.My son LOVES bass fishing but I would rather chase the specks. The wife doesn't care as long as it puts up a fight. We may take a head boat out on the coast a day or 2 but other than that we really don't have any plans. I guess what I am asking is what are my options for a safe place to keep my boat and what are some productive lakes in the area. My son will graduate high school in a few months so this will possibly be one of the last true family vacations for him so I would like to make it a good one for him. Thanks for any help ya'll give and hope everyone has tight lines.

Dont waste your money on a head boat. Snapper fishing is on lockdown. Either hire a backcountry charter for Snook, Redfish, Tarpon and trout or hire a guided trip in freshwater. The other option if funds are available is a six pack charter trolling. The Mahi, kingfish bite should be full on with a passing Wahoo, Sailfish or cobia. Safe place in Orlando to keep a boat is your own yard or a personal storage locked inside with door shut(not behind a locked fence). Tons of opportunity for freshwater in Orlando, problem will be security. Of course that is depending on where in Orlando your staying. Disney vacation clubs with gates and security and surveillance probably ok.

Thinking more on this, if not wanting to take fish home for dinner, a head boat out of Ponce Inlet or Cape Canaveral should be a good time. Red Snapper are everywhere on the reefs and cant get away from them after about 13 miles out. Just about all you can catch till about 250' where the grouper roam. Just the season is closed so no taking them home.

Thanks for the info. Huntin. Do you know any good backcountry guides. I tried one when we were down 2 years ago and it was a joke. Ended up being 2 younger guys maybe in their early 20's with a deck boat that was skipping on at least 1 cylinder. They provided the rods and reels because we were in salt water and I didn't want to use mine. I went through 3 reels before I got one that worked good enough to use. I wasn't being picky I promise. Their advertising was top notch though. Pretty brochures and good website and everything. Wasted time, money and felt violated as I was leaving.

I live in eustis.... Not far from Orlando and pretty well central to some popular speck lakes as well as the river.... Your welcome to stash your boat here.... Got plenty of room under the barns as well as electric. Couldn't be any safer unless you slept in it. You could come and go as you please. PM me if your interested and I'll send you my address and cell number..... You can Google Earth it to see if it would work for you.... Also plenty of goobers around here that might show you around.
