good fishing reports and talk of time for them to start spawning? Heading down for next week and want to get excited but don't see any big crappie pics from you guys. My guys who already are there arn't doing very well so hoping to see some success stories and where they are biting at.

I cant speak for everyone else but i been trying to catch up round the house from a few months of unattention while the heavy fall/winter bite was on. Bout getting it all rounded out again and will be heading back out and about soon. should be on the backside of the spawn by now, not sure though, don't chase the bedding fish myself. Like to leave em go to do their thing.

Think you are right huntinslabs bout backside of spawn, things have slowed at least where I have been fishing and myself don't usually chase bedding fish either. Been limited out a couple weeks ago before feb. full moon and last sunday struggled to catch 8 keepers.Name: 20170226_154711_Burst01.jpg

Last Sunday I worked a bit to catch 8 with 1 keeper, pitchin jigs. I was in the canoe so it wasn't like I could go far. I look forward to it getting better this weekend. I don't do well on the full and new moon usually. Boat issues dealt with so I get to scoot around some this weekend. I hope.

I caught 10 on Monday at Blue Cypress, and 9 yesterday on Okeechobee single pole jigging weed edges and reeds.
About 5 hours fishing each day starting about 10 am. When your 82 it takes longer to get things up and running.
Some of the fish, especially smaller ones still have eggs.
I/64 oz with the smallest Bobby Garland minnow which probably appears to be a grass shrimp is what ive been using.
Bass, shellcrackers, and the big blugills like it also.
Watch the water level, I hit a stump so hard on Garcia last week my engine cover came off and was lost.
Not a cheap trip, although I did pretty well on the fish.
Between the low water and all the big airboats hauling tourists, ive decided to stay away from there for now.
