Default Night Fishing on a Full Moon

Was thinking about going out and soaking some lights and minnows at the bridge on Lake Harris or maybe sticking around here and trying one of the mouths of canals in the Winter Haven chain, but my experience with full moon fishing leaves me a bit hesitant.

What are your guys thoughts and experiences with it?

I have really shady luck hunting, fishing, flounder gigging on a full moon. Only thing I find good on full moon is shrimping. Something about night time and the extra light overhead spooks em I believe. Even flounder gigging, normal night you can pass right over them and they lay right there, come full moon and they scoot away as soon as the lights hit em.

Mid December they start and run till mid April usually. Some nights/weeks better than others. Just never really know till ya turn the lights on and set a while. Headed to Oak hill tomorrow to give her a go. Everything is set up good for a good run, full moon, strong outgoing tide at dark, ESE winds and a cool front. Hopefully the shrimp cooperate.

Sunshine,I would rather not fish full moon night fishing. The fish will be more scatter and I used submersing lights to draw the bait in. Hard to get them come to the lights. Now back when I bass fish would love the full moon nights ,would put the bass shadow.

I really enjoy sleeping at night 😊, but if I am going to lose a goodnight of sleep, I will be fishing. Everybody has their opinion about full moon, my opinion I HATE IT! I hate during the day or night. Some will say it's 'cause the fish feed at night, I think they just go on a diet around the full moon.
Remember, any time on the water is a great time. Good luck if you go, let us know how you make out.

I agree with lil john. Good for bass fishing. Plus you can see where your bait lands.

Have done a lot of night fishing here in Ga and the full moon was always a sorry time to go. It scatters the bait fish and makes it hard to draw in the crappie to the lights.
