That hasn't changed my habits for the early part of the day when I go and give thanks for all we are given in the outdoors. Always so quiet and peaceful. This year will be a special morning for me in more ways than usual as I'll have company on my trip. I'll be putting in to fish Lake Monroe at the usual place and the A number1 head gewber himself will be in the back of the boat. For a long time I have tried to put together a trip with Slab, and it has finally come together. He and I both think it would be great if we could have some company from the folks we usually fish with. I'm sure there will plenty of room at the ramp and plenty of fish in the lake. So the invite is for everyone to show if you can for as long as you can. What better day to spend in fellowship with each other. So who's in???????
Thanks for posting this Tim, and beautiful photo by the way. You brought back memories, of me waiting to get old enough to hunt deer with my Grandfather and Uncles on Thanksgiving morn. In Western new York we had to wait til we were 16. My Grandmother ( Gosh I Miss her)! always was preparing food for our family get together feast. It always puzzled me as how she could cook for all that time, and we would come home from hunting and GOBBLE it down in 15 minutes!! (???) Of course all us " hunter", then would sprawl out over the floor for our naps! lol

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

A group of guys that I hunt with have fished Thanksgiving morning til noon every year for the past 10 yrs no matter what the weather is.

We used to get a few dozen shrimp & bank fish or find a dock, over time our little "honey hole" got ruined. We got boats & the speck addiction,
started to hit the freshwater. The last few years we have been going to Lemon Bluff & fish the river or run to Harney if the weather was decent.
That's the plan this year as well, if we change our mind we may invade you guys on Monroe. In not happy fishing & thanksgiving to you guys !!

So glad that I posted this. I have such good memories of past trips as do so many of you. Stirring up those memories and sharing them together here is just icing on the cake. I'm officially wound up, hope I can sleep Wednesday night!

And Marv, that is a Tennessee picture. I have a bunch from up there and they all stir memories.
