I heard a rumor that there will not be one this fall.
Has a date been set for the fall Crappie.com party at Lake Talquin?

I sure enjoyed the gathering at Harney we had this past year. I'd like to get to one of those.

Hmmmm.....hope that's just a rumor. I sure enjoyed the one last fall.
I hope so too, as long as it's in Oct or Nov. If we just have some guys meet and fish , that would be okay. Does not have to be a full blow out.We may have to fend for our own food. Maybe one night at that rest. up the road and maybe a small fish fry with french fries. But I bet Slab might would kick in a few prizes. We could volunteer to bring food or all kick in a few bucks. Heck a couple buckets of chicken is cheap. And we could have a big fish pot each day. Anyway, I'm and outsider just passing on a few things we do over at our Toledo Bend event. But I sure will try my best to attend if we get one up. I liked that lake for sure. "D"
I will be in the neighborhood this Saturday and will swing by the Lodge and see what I can find out.
Stopped at Lake Talquin Lodge yesterday and Jared was not aware of anyone planning an Oct/Nov crappiefest. He said Pat will be back in the shop next Friday and to check with her.
Learned the bream bite has been really good early and late in the day. Afternoon anglers start showing up about 5pm. More local folks fishing during the week than on weekends. It's really hot out there on the open lake

Hey guys....Been a busy summer so far for me but we are working on a date for something at Talquin. It's probably going to be more "Low Keyed" than the past events but I have been so pre-occupied with "Life" these past few months that I haven't even began to get things planned. With that being said, I am thinking about just having a Fish Fry on Friday evening, sorta like a Meet and Greet. Selling tickets for door prizes have always paid for all expenses with money left over to give away to a few teams on Saturday but it is alot of work putting it all together to make things happen and I just won't have the time it takes for all of that this year. My suggestion is to have a donation jar set up when we eat on Friday and that will help pay for the food expenses. If someone wants to step up and do like we have done in the past,(door prizes, selling tickets, etc...) I'll be glad to help all I can. Possibly a Fruit Jar on Friday if anyone wants to head that up. I'm looking at the first weekend of Nov 5 at Lake Talquin Lodge. I'll confirm that date with LTL later this week. Yall toss it around and lets see what we can work out.

Thanks Tim....a low key gathering sounds just fine to me. Last year was sure a lot of work and was much appreciated by all.....but, just getting together and meeting folks again this year would be just fine. Of course anything more would the lagniappe if someone is so inclined.
