Thread: South Florida Crappie

Does anyone know how to catch crappie in the ponds and canals around Broward county? I don't have a bass boat to go on Lake Okeechobee so I'm stuck in the urban jungle, but I do have a small Jon boat. Please share any tips

Not sure you'll have much luck in the canals, but check with FWC or some bait shops if you can find any. There use to be Two on 27....one about 5 or 6 miles south of 84.... I think it was Seminole Truck stop...... and one to the north at the Palm beach county line. If you make a trip up to south bay there's a great fishing dock/pier...baitshop...beer....snacks etc. They do a lot of night fishing there and we use have some nice catches. Good luck!
