that was a good day out.
It was a trying day. Wife and I took my father in law to see if we could get him some fish. Cant get in a hurry cause he has to have breakfast, breathing treatment, morning ritual and all the other good stuff that comes with being 88. Getting him from truck with walker loaded into to boat is an exercise as well. But we got him out and actually did get him on some fish and he managed to get 1 in the boat. Like taking a kid for their first fish.He sure enjoyed the change in scenery. Hopefully the experience proves stronger than dimentia and can enjoy for more than the few hours we were out. Ran into Fishinnole and his compadre chasing the bass. Good chating with you. Looked for minnowdrownder but couldnt locate him but we did not cover much ground.
Now back to the grind for another week. See yall next weekend.

I was once told that God didn't deduct the days spent fishing from the days of your life. I believe you got a couple of extra days today. I can only hope that someone can tolerate me enough to take me fishing when I get that age. God Bless Mike, you and the wife done good today.

Thanks for sharing this Mike.... So many of us are in the same boat with elderly parents.... It's demanding but admirable to make them as happy as possible....

That was our 2nd trip with him. First one ended shortly when unpreicted rain moved in. With warmer weather coming I am sure there will be many more trips God willing. Hard to believe he had his 4th stroke last Monday and is back getting around. Was not as bad as the 3rd that took 3 weeks of rehab to get him going again. We will keep tryi g as long as we can.
Sounds like a good day. I got my mom into the boat today too. It's always a pleasure, for them and for us. There's something about big out on the water.

Mike,
Very nice to meet you today also. I realized after you pulled away that must have been your father n law in the boat with you and your wife. It was a beautiful day to be on the water and I sure he did enjoy being out. You must have trolled me up a little luck as you passed by. I caught 3 small bass in a row after you left which almost caught me up to my partner who had caught all 4 fish earlier in the morning. I was explaining Crappie.com and the great bunch of guys on the site an all the good information freely shared. Hopefully I will get him to try a little spec fishing and maybe even a slabfest one day. But when you don't own the boat you do what the captain tells you to do and you buy the gas and the shiners.
Great day for sure, nice to read reports like this and good to see there is still caring people out there. This is one reason why I like this website.
