    Default 5 Minute Crappie Jig

Let me start with a disclaimer. I知 no expect (as you値lsoon find out), I just wanted to see what I could throw together with thematerials I had in-house.

Step 1: Procurement of resources: Looking in the 田atch all播rawer we find some old party centerpieces, no idea why we still have them butI do see what looks like mylar. I also found some nail polish and sewingthread. Add in some bare hooks and weare officially in business.
Step 2: Put the bare hook through the mylar and wrap themylar around the hook with the thread. Just wrap it tightly, probably somebetter time tested techniques out there, but were not doing anything fancy.
Step 3: Use the finger nail polish to coat the thread, thiswill (hopefully) keep the thread from unspooling. If you have super glue, thiswill work as well, however as I later found out, when you get the super gluewet (after its dried) it will have a white haze, so if you use super glue, waittill it dries then cover with finger nail polish.
Step 4: Let dry, your done.
Fished this jig over the weekend and caught a goodly amountof nice fish on it, no headweight allows for more action from your minnow, utilized this jig while spiderrigging After 1 trip, still looks good and isholding together well, no signs of degradation. May fall apart next time, we'll find out. Overall great first attempt.

Excellant idea - and it works
Have used similar idea as trailing 2nd jig on double set up.

Skipper's or hand made top end, plain hook, mylar covered & tied no weight,
gives off excellant action as trailer - minnow tipped.
This jig at times will outfish lead jig 3-1.............

    Thanks for sharing...................great idea................

Looks great - but the reel question is does your wife know you got into her nail polish and sewing kit?

Good effort. I look for it to catch a bunch more, and get some company when you make some more. Nylon tying thread will make them almost indestructible. A lot of us use Sally Hansons hard as nails for the sealer.
