I managed to save the bobber. Tree would not let go of that gold hook. O-Well, not much lost, just the hook and weight. Next time I plan on aiming a bit lower.
It was a great day to be on the water, especially with the HEAD goober. Enjoyed the fellowship and look forward to more trips, but we need to exceed our limits. I had one small green carp, lost a nice crappie at the boat, I thought that is was another carp, so I was not to intent on boating it, until it came up along side and opened its mouth and shook. That was all in needed to swim away for another day. Last cast, to get rid of a minnow, the bobber hit the water and immediately disappeared. Good fighting fish, but what would appear,--A MUD FISH -- BOW FIN. Hooked good in the corner of mouth, so had to net and remove the hook before returning to the lake as gator bait.

Thanks for the update guys. I was wondering how the trip had gone. I firmly believe that when the water comes down some, or if it stays up for a few more weeks that things will go back to something close to normal. That buffet they're gorging on can't last forever. I see flycaster took his smiling pills today, good job!!

If the water warms a tick I know where my kayak will be heading.
