    Default Lake Talquin Slabfest

This years Slabfest, Crappie-Palooza, Get Together or whatever you want to call it is scheduled for the weekend of October 23, 2015. The past 4-5 years have gotten better every year and this year should be just as good!! The last couple of years we all went to Angels Seafood on Thursday night, a Fruit Jar Tournament on Friday, Fish Fry on Friday night, Slabfest on Saturday with a Hot Dog lunch with some side dishes, and door prizes given away. Unless anyone has any other ideas, I guess we will keep this format for this year.

(On a side note, I think it would be great to focus on Family and our Military members, both active and retired or anyone who has served. They are the reason we can have these events!!!)

This event is open to anyone that wants to attend. The past few years have drawn people from GA,FL,AL,TN,VA,IN,AR,MI and SC to name just some of the states represented.

Hooker and myself are already working on some door prizes and as every year in the past, we are accepting anything that anyone wants to donate for door prizes. We have given away items such as 10 lb bag of pecans to home made pepper juice to Hand Made Walking Sticks along with gift certificates from various places and even some fishing stuff It's all about Fishing, Food, Friends and Fellowship and those 4 things are always guaranteed at Lake Talquin

All festivities will be held at Lake Talquin Lodge. They have plenty of openings now so making reservations early guarantees that you'll be in the midst of things. Whippoorwill also has plenty of rooms available as well as Ingrams Marina. Feel free to contact me or Hooker if you have any ideas or donations for this event. We are always looking for ways to make this event better for everyone. One or both of us should be there trying to find the fish the whole week. Here is some info for accommodations on the lake:

Lake Talquin Lodge 231 Gainey Rd, Quincy, FL 32351 (850) 627-3822

Whippoorwill Marina 3129 Cooks Landing Rd, Quincy, FL 32351 (850) 875-2605

Ingrams Marina 354 Lois Ln, Quincy, FL 32351 (850) 627-2241

We are only 3 months away and the weather should be great....See everyone there!!!!!

"D"...RV camping only at all 3 locations that I listed in the original post. Pat Thomas State Park, located between Lake Talquin Lodge and Whippoorwill on the lake, allows tent camping...Hope this helps.

Just Curious? Who has enough kahunas to ban a feller that can spit cabins? And how far can he spit em? Might invite him to the house fer dinner and ask him to relocate a neighbors house for me.
