    Default Anglers Resort Dunellion

Just saw they are tearing down the ole run down hotel and rebuilding. Gotta hand it to the new owners, sure has been trying hard to get that place back up and going. Fixed up the restaurant and bait shop and now the hotel. If yall ever in the area he has some good eats and entertainment. Nice to see someone continuing to support fishermen. Any specks in that river?

If your talking the Rainbow River..... cant say for sure other than its clear as clear water can get ......................did notice some green carp fishermen over the years but not much in the line of crappie fishermen. AWESOME river to take the family out for a tube float.............. one of the best in the state IMO. Just remember to mix up some jungle juice for the float........................ good stuff I'm telling ya. (FWC keeps the river clear of reptiles which is a plus)

Close, but it is actually on the Withlacoochee about a 1/2mile from the junction of Rainbow river. And yes the Rainbow River is a true Gem and needs preserved. The Withlacoochee is dark tanin stained, I know it has great bass fishing but curious about speck fishing.

Check with 89Ranger if he's still on here. He used to post reports from that area.

Yeah. He moved off to Sippi. Thinking maybe Harold or Miley might have some intell on the river. Thinking it might be a good place for an early summer gathering. Peeps with campers could hole up at the Rainbow Springs Campground and with a new hotel others could stay there. Ramp across the street from the Anglers resort. Fish a while BS at the Blue Gator and then next day take the tube run down the river. Reckon we could always do a bream bust if not much fer speck fishing. Bout Memorial day weekend would be about right fer some bream fishing.

There are crappie there in river and oxbows. Plenty of cover to jig.

Something to ponder. Might have to make a call to the Gator and see if they would help any.

I have not been there. But I bet there are some mudfish in there that would make you scared to be by yourself at night.

Aint skeered no mudfish! And these mudfish just babies compared to the ones roaming the spillway in Louisiana. They make great bait for crawfish traps.

There are specks in there, and some good ones. In certain parts it is very deep the water is clear and pretty good luck.
