I could see that perspective, but I thought it was OK. They coulda had a presentation with a question and answer session. But if they did that, the bass guys woulda taken over. They had lots of individual presenters you could walk up to and ask questions. Some of them were real good I thought.

The one guy told me which specific attractors held more crappie than others based on their electrofishing surveys. $20 and I might share this info! j/k, lol

The other guy told me why there was any mercury at all in our water system, and that our lakes here in central Florida were actually some of the cleanest in the state. I know you're gonna ask, but the mercury comes naturally from the environment, or from the air (when fossil fuel like coal is burned). Not from industrial plants dumping it in the river! And the Harris Chain has some of the lowest levels in the state, so that's good. He also talked about other pollutants like pesticides and said that was low too cause by it's nature it stays stuck to the mud in those muck farms where they were used and does not travel, and does degrade over time.

    Just my

CG1, did he give you any good tips?

It was great to see so many crappie.com members there. We shoulda had a group hug photo! lol

And we finally met Crappiemajic and his neighbor. The Griffin king that posted this picture with 3 14"ers from there. I can catch them that size but usually one at a time. And right now, this time of the year, all we're catching are dinks. They should rename the lake and call it Dinkville! Should be good in a couple years though. Love the 10" limit. They should do that on the whole chain.

curious, who were the representatives for FWC -
    along with Marine biologist ?
Do you pick up any positive ideas and or thoughts of what they plan to do
    in future.
It is my understanding that you must have some type permit or filing design to
plant your own attractors and there is an extremely amount of paperwork to
handle and report to FWC ..

I did not take down any names so, dono who specifically was there.

They plan to put more structure down in the whole Harris Chain and are doing Lake Harris right now.

And I asked about putting down your own structure, and the guy said that's definitely a "no no".

    My posting from 2009:

    http://www.crappie.com/crappie/fl-ar...sh-attractors/

FWC has already started setting out MOSSBACK Fish Habitat, fish attractors in Lake Harris. They have identified seven locations. Don't know the number of individual structures in each location.
Lake Griffin has had fish attractors installed in 18 locations.
FWC Fish Attractor Finder will show where fish attractors have been installed. DOES NOT show Lake Harris

I had a great talk with one if the old timers with the division who has moved up and on to Ocala regarding the Entire harris chain in comparison to Monroe And Crescent particularly but also good producing lakes . He and I exchanged phone numbers and r going to be communicating going forward. I explained to him that the community surrounding the Harris chain is losing hundreds of thousands al I ne from the tourist industry fishing other places instead of here. The bass is up but the crappie is down. The black crappie seems to be in abundance everywhere but the Harris chain .
