Yamaha SHO. At least that's what I got. Etec's are just really starting to show up around here, but ProX's are very popular. I would have ProX , but xpress boats come with Yamaha. My son-in-law just replaced his blown Yamaha 225 HPDI(6 yrs old) with a ProX.

Another vote for the pro xs. Not many techs in my area for the etec.

I'm going with the ETEC, I've been posed with the same question to equip my up-comming boat build & had a Evinrude previously that was 28yrs old, thus when the lower unit went instead of repair, bought new a Suzuki spending the 1st year getting out all the bugs, then ran ok til' sold in fall, back to American built for me. This video made me feel pretty good about my decision. Could not get to upload, but is Youtube "ETEC vs Yamaha tug-of-war" Both same Boats w/150 HP proped the same, interesting to say the least.

Dont understand your post! He asked our opinion and I stated mine? I think they are both good motors but I prefer Mercury. Why not answer his question instead of derailing another thread?

I've owned an ETEC for over a year now. Smoothest, quietest two stroke motor I've ever owned and never fails to start on cold mornings. One thing to note is that Evinrude will void the warranty if you use ethanol fuel (although I can't imagine running that in my outboard motor anyway)
